This is what's been going on with my old high school in the States. It happened well after I left but what a story! A Wall Street whiz retired at 27 and found his second calling teaching high school maths, dominating maths competition, and basically making maths thinking cool. Interested in trying something new and highly rewarding? Talk to one of us.
Our motto of the week is ”It takes a village to raise a maths team”. As planning for the June 27 tournament has kicked into high gear, we have been bouyed by the generosity of the Hammersmith/Shepherd’s Bush community. There’ll be more to say in this space soon. But even weeks before the event, it’s clear that this tournament is being fuel by the enthusiasm and energy of entrepreneurs, business owners and community leaders of W4, W6 and W12 (I bet there’s a maths puzzle lurking in those post codes!)
